About the Role

The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to fill the position of Clinical Team Lead for the Children's Occupational Therapy Team in the Autism Diagnostic Service. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to promote high-quality client-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership to the MDA Pathway and work effectively within the MDA team for autism spectrum disorders.
  • Carry out complex occupational therapy assessments to assist with a diagnostic outcome for children within the autism spectrum.
  • Work clinically with clients presenting with a wide range of communication difficulties relating to the Autistic spectrum.
  • Support the electronic triage process of referrals into the MDA pathway and speak to referring agents as required.
  • Support and lead on Risk Management and represent Paediatric OT at strategic level as required.
  • Lead on Clinical Governance initiatives/tasks as required and assist in the planning, development, and evaluation of the service.

Requirements

  • Dip COT or relevant OT Degree and HCPC registered.
  • Evidence of relevant and up to date postgraduate training and experience working in the field of autism and working with education.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships and evidence of relevant ongoing professional and clinical development.
  • Experience of working in successful multidisciplinary teams and working within a variety of settings and with a variety of agencies.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision and team management skills.
