About the Role

The NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead to join our team as a System Integrator Clinical Lead for Cancer Services. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, driving improvements in cancer care and population health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement revised cancer pathways, ensuring they consider primary care perspectives and are workable from a primary care standpoint.
  • Provide clinical oversight of work programs within the Cancer Prevention, Screening, and Awareness workstream.
  • Monitor national and local developments in primary care policy and research on cancer, ensuring implementation in Leeds where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical lead colleagues from other places in West Yorkshire to support fulfillment of the West Yorkshire Cancer Alliance delivery plan.
  • Chair the Cancer Population Board.
Requirements
  • Good understanding of cancer referral and treatment pathways.
  • Good understanding of health inequalities and experience of developing schemes to identify and address inequities.
  • Knowledge of Population Health Planning and ability to understand and interpret complex datasets.
  • Experience of using service improvement methodology.
Working Relationships

The post holder will work across health and care partners in the city, including the ICB in Leeds, Leeds City-Wide Clinical and Care Professional Forum, Leeds Clinical Senate, and relevant third sector organizations.

Person Specification
  • Qualified Clinical Professional.
  • Unblemished registration with GMC, NMC, or other relevant body.
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional and personal development.
Skills and Behaviours
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to interrogate data to facilitate evidence-based decision making.
  • Ability to understand financial modeling and develop options appraisals and business cases with clear financial planning.
  • Familiar with Leeds Informatics systems in primary and secondary care.
