Job Title: Clinical Lead Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Nurse to join our team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

About the Role:

The Clinical Lead Nurse will be responsible for maintaining a nursing culture that is open to change, new ideas, and innovations. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Striving for continuous improvements in the delivery of high-quality patient-focused care.
  2. Participating in the ward team, including delegating work to junior staff.
  3. Acting as a clinical expert, providing specialist knowledge and advice to nurses and medical staff.
  4. Organizing workload and supporting junior staff to time manage and prioritize.
  5. Planning and managing skill mix to reflect workload and meet patient needs.
  6. Actively participating in department budgeting and exercising care and economy in supplies and equipment.
  7. Participating in the development and delivery of a philosophy of care that respects patient, carer, and staff rights.
  8. Leading by example, motivating, and empowering others.
  9. Promoting effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
  10. Relating to staff and patients in a confident manner, demonstrating good listening skills.
  11. Acting as a positive ambassador for the Trust, promoting best clinical and professional practice.
  12. Creating, maintaining, and enhancing effective working relationships and collaborative working.
  13. Recognizing areas of conflict and assisting in management to promote a healthy working environment.
  14. Taking responsibility for maintaining staff records and taking appropriate action.
  15. Taking responsibility for orienting new staff, nursing students, and allied health professionals.
  16. Mentoring and supervising pre and post-registered staff.
  17. Ensuring nursing practices comply with Trust policies and procedures.
  18. Responding to and investigating complaints and incidents.
  19. Assisting in maintaining a safe clinical environment through risk management processes.
  20. Maintaining awareness of national and regional initiatives.
  21. Participating in individual performance review processes.
  22. Fostering good relationships to achieve high morale for staff and patients.
  23. Providing feedback to the matron nurse on individual staff progression.
  24. Monitoring health, safety, and security of self and others.
