1st Executive Ltd is a leading recruitment agency specializing in procurement and supply chain talent. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join our client, a FTSE 250 company undergoing a Procurement and Supplier Management transformation.

Job Summary

The Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of commercial and sourcing strategy, leading business-critical Purchasing and Procurement projects for assigned categories, and acting as an internal business partner to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commercial and sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
  • Create comprehensive category plans that balance cost, quality, and risk considerations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive business change and process improvements.
  • Negotiate with key suppliers and senior stakeholders to secure optimal terms and conditions.
  • Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities to ensure strong partnerships.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in procurement, with a track record of creating and executing compelling category plans.
  • Supplier Relationship Management expertise.
  • Negotiation skills, with a strong understanding of contract law.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Degree and MCIPS qualification.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Indirect category experience, preferably with exposure to logistics, distribution, or warehousing.
  • Strategic sourcing experience, with a focus on indirect procurement.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to influence decision-making at the managerial level.
  • Contract management experience in complex commercial constructs.
  • Experience in defining and implementing strategic change within an organization.
