About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team at Recra Consulting. As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Management: Manage the procurement process from start to finish, including identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply, reducing procurement costs, and obtaining competitive advantage.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze procurement demand and market trends to achieve procurement cost control and lower general procurement costs.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks from the evolving procurement environment and implement risk mitigation plans to maintain consistent supply levels.
  • Communication: Organize communication with suppliers periodically to build durable relationships and ensure effective communication.
  • Database Management: Maintain a database of components, determine stock levels, and monitor availability of components and stock longevity.
  • Supplier Audits: Organize periodic supplier audits and evaluations to ensure continuation of suitable suppliers on the approved suppliers register.
  • Market Research: Gather and analyze research material on markets and clients' information for the sourcing of potential suppliers.
  • Supplier Development: Drive and enhance supplier understanding of management processes and guidelines.
  • Quality Management: Ensure quality of procured items and address problems when they arise using quality problem-solving techniques.
  • Record Keeping: Compile and maintain purchase records, supplier databases, and procurement contracts.
  • KPI Management: Manage suppliers' KPIs and determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Demand Forecasting: Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
  • Business Review: Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost-down and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
  • Engineering Procurement Expertise: Strong expertise in engineering procurement.
  • Benchmarking and Negotiation: Able to benchmark market pricing and negotiate revised terms with the supplier base.
  • Internal Systems Familiarity: Familiarity with internal MRP systems.
  • Results-Oriented: Results-oriented and proactive with a can-do work attitude.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to be a credible ambassador for the team.
  • Office System Skills: Strong office system skills, including Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • ISO9001 Systems: Good understanding of ISO9001 systems in relation to the Purchasing and Supply function, ideally IATF 16949.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze large quantities of data and produce subsequent reports from this data.
