About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team at Recra Consulting. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Management: Manage the procurement process from start to finish, including identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, reduce costs, and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and demand to achieve procurement cost control and lower general procurement costs in line with business strategies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in the procurement environment to maintain consistent supply levels.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Organize regular communication with suppliers to build durable relationships and ensure effective collaboration.
  • Database Management: Maintain a database of components, determine stock levels, and monitor availability and stock longevity.
  • Supplier Audits and Evaluation: Organize periodic supplier audits and evaluations to ensure continuation of suitable suppliers on the approved suppliers register.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Gather and analyze research material on markets and clients' information to ensure the validity of procurement strategies.
  • Supplier Education and Development: Drive and enhance supplier understanding of management processes and guidelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of procured items and address problems when they arise using quality problem-solving techniques.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Compile and maintain purchase records, supplier databases, and procurement contracts.
  • Supplier KPI Management: Manage suppliers' KPIs and determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Demand Forecasting: Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
  • Business Review and Strategy: Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost-down and improvement opportunities.
  • Procurement Process Improvement: Advise senior management and improve procurement processes.
Requirements
  • Engineering Procurement Expertise: Strong expertise in engineering procurement.
  • Negotiation and Benchmarking: Able to benchmark market pricing and negotiate revised terms with the supplier base.
  • Internal Systems Familiarity: Familiarity with internal MRP systems.
  • Results-Oriented and Proactive: Hard working spirit, can deliver to tight deadlines and workplace pressures; results-oriented; proactive, can-do work attitude.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Office System Skills: Strong office system skills (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • ISO9001 Systems Knowledge: Good understanding of ISO9001 systems in relation to the Purchasing and Supply function, ideally IATF 16949.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze large quantities of data and produce subsequent reports from this data.
