IT Infrastructure and Hardware Procurement Specialist
This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional to specialize in IT infrastructure and hardware procurement. As an IT Infrastructure and Hardware Procurement Specialist, you will work with key stakeholders to manage and optimize a £multi-million spend for business-critical IT equipment.
You will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for IT infrastructure and hardware, aligning with the broader business objectives. This includes managing relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts for IT hardware, servers, networking equipment, and other related services.
You will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to understand technology needs and ensure that procurement strategies meet operational requirements. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with procurement experience looking to focus on IT categories, offering the chance to develop expertise in hardware, infrastructure, and related services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Development: Support and contribute to the creation and execution of procurement strategies for IT infrastructure and hardware.
- Supplier Management: Assist in managing relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts for IT hardware, servers, networking equipment, and other related services.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to understand technology needs and ensure that procurement strategies meet operational requirements.
- Spend Management: Play a key role in managing the IT hardware spend, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and performance improvement.
- Compliance & Innovation: Help implement procurement strategies that ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements while supporting innovation in IT sourcing.
Requirements:
- Procurement Experience: Some procurement experience, ideally within IT categories (infrastructure, hardware, or software), with a strong interest in growing expertise in this area.
- Negotiation Skills: Basic understanding of supplier negotiation processes, with a desire to develop strong skills in negotiating high-value IT contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- IT Knowledge: A keen interest in IT infrastructure and hardware, with the ability to learn and understand the complexities of sourcing technology equipment and services.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with IT teams and suppliers to ensure alignment with business goals.
