Job Summary

NHS England is seeking experienced advanced practitioners/clinicians to support the Regional Faculty for Advancing Practice in training, supervision, job roles, and workforce needs for advanced practitioners.

About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee and advise on advanced practice specialty-specific matters, support recruitment to advanced practice training posts and programmes, and manage trainee/trainer concerns.

They will work closely with the Regional Faculty for Advancing Practice to support implementation of the NHSE Quality Framework, emphasizing the importance and promoting the development of a quality learning environment for all learners.

The role offers excellent opportunities for personal and professional development as part of a wider team providing leadership and management to the development of our future healthcare workforce in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advanced practice specialty-specific matters happening regionally and nationally.
  • Support recruitment to advanced practice training posts and programmes and manage trainee/trainer concerns.
  • Use educational resources to support learners within programmes to fulfill their full potential.
  • Advanced Practice programme management, including assessments, progression, support and remediation, trainee management, careers support and less than full-time training.
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Education to Masters' level, or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area and healthcare leadership.
  • Current membership to a regulatory body/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association.
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare education management or commissioning, acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience or training.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the national advancing practice agenda.
  • Experience of bringing and supporting advanced practice trainees into a healthcare setting.
  • Understanding of AP roles within a range of healthcare settings from all professional groups (nursing, AHPs and pharmacists).
  • Understanding of the educational requirements of Advanced practice trainees in practice.
