Job Summary

The NDT Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our fabrication processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of inspections, NDT coordination, and reviews to ensure high levels of performance and minimal non-conformances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and develop Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and supporting QA documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical support for projects and maintenance activities, ensuring quality-related requirements are met.
  • Review and approve vendor/supplier Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans to ensure alignment with our quality standards.
  • Liaise with Welding Inspectors and Project Leads to ensure timely submission of documentation and QA requirements.
  • Coordinate the Inspection function, including liaison with 3rd party inspectors and material certification, welding, NDT, and other quality requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and examinations to deliver quality auditing and control of activities.
  • Report inspection findings and non-conformances in line with project plans and reporting requirements.
  • Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as necessary and collaborate with Client's QA departments.
  • Ensure quality performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support the development and maintenance of a strong workshop Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture.

Requirements

  • Good engineering and QA/QC background, with knowledge and experience in Quality Management Systems.
  • Development of project QA documentation and review of supplier QA documentation.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques.
  • Able to read and understand isometric drawings.
  • Understanding of and familiarity with pipe standards and specifications.
  • Radiographic interpretation.
  • Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Understanding of fabrication, welding, and NDT techniques.

Desirable Qualifications

  • CSWIP Level 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector.
  • PCN level 2 – Radiographic Interpretation.
  • Recognised Internal Auditor qualification.
  • ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering/BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent experience.
  • Member of Chartered Quality Institute (desirable).
