Job Summary
The NDT Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our fabrication processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of inspections, NDT coordination, and reviews to ensure high levels of performance and minimal non-conformances.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and develop Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and supporting QA documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Provide technical support for projects and maintenance activities, ensuring quality-related requirements are met.
- Review and approve vendor/supplier Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans to ensure alignment with our quality standards.
- Liaise with Welding Inspectors and Project Leads to ensure timely submission of documentation and QA requirements.
- Coordinate and advise on material certification, welding, NDT, and other quality requirements to ensure compliance.
- Conduct inspections and examinations to deliver quality auditing and control of activities.
- Report inspection findings and non-conformances in line with project plans and reporting requirements.
- Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as necessary and collaborate with Client's QA departments.
- Monitor and review quality performance metrics to ensure alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Support the development and maintenance of a strong workshop Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture.
Requirements
- Good engineering and QA/QC background with knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
- Experience in developing project QA documentation and reviewing supplier QA documentation.
- Knowledge of KPIs and performance monitoring techniques.
- Able to read and understand isometric drawings.
- Understanding of pipe standards and specifications.
- Radiographic interpretation skills.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Understanding of fabrication, welding, and NDT techniques.
Desirable Qualifications
- CSWIP Level 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector.
- PCN level 2 – Radiographic Interpretation.
- Recognized Internal Auditor qualification.
- ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering/BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent experience.
- Member of Chartered Quality Institute (desirable).
