Job Overview:
The role involves conducting in-service inspections of pressurized systems, storage tanks, and piping networks to comply with regulatory standards and client specifications. You will be accountable for delivering inspection services to clients across the designated regions.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and assess Written Schemes of Examination (WSE).
- Determine necessary plant preparations based on the WSE.
- Perform equipment examinations in line with the WSE.
- Execute NDT ultrasonic thickness assessments, as well as magnetic particle and dye penetrant flaw detection.
- Coordinate with third-party NDT service providers for extensive or specialized inspection needs.
- Prepare comprehensive written reports, supplemented with photographic evidence.
- Evaluate equipment deterioration.
- Review design calculations and assess defect grading.
- Oversee repair coordination.
- Engage in Risk-Based Inspection studies.
Qualifications:
- HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Incorporated Engineer status is preferred.
Experience & Skills:
- Background in Mechanical Engineering.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to meticulously adhere to procedures.
- Confidence to make and justify challenging decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously.
- Desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes and NDT is advantageous.
- Experience in the chemical and/or oil & gas sectors is a plus.
