Position Overview
This position involves overseeing the operational execution of a groundbreaking research initiative: "Creating Effective Service Models for Adult Palliative and End-of-Life Care for Individuals with Learning Disabilities (DAPPLE)." This complex study, supported by the NIHR, encompasses multiple work packages and necessitates fieldwork at various research locations throughout England. The research team comprises experts from Kingston University, Open University, University of Leicester, and LOROS Hospice, alongside key stakeholders such as policymakers, professional organizations, family caregivers, and advocacy groups. An Advisory Group and Study Steering Committee provide essential support for this project.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating the study and fulfilling administrative obligations. Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary contact for research sites, project teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Managing inquiries and drafting reports for oversight committees and the NIHR.
- Supporting the preparation and dissemination of research findings.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate degree in health services research, social sciences, psychology, sociology, nursing, or a related field; equivalent qualifications or experience will also be considered. A strong background in managing complex, multifaceted research projects is essential. The candidate should demonstrate advanced organizational and written communication skills, along with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving. Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines will be advantageous.
