Key Responsibilities

In the position of Process Technician, you will play a crucial role in the upkeep of the sewage infrastructure, treatment processes for foul and surface water, and equipment for monitoring environmental disturbances. Your duties will include essential inspections, testing, calibration, and verification of various monitoring assets.

Your primary tasks will encompass:

  • Overseeing maintenance schedules, evaluating and prioritizing necessary repairs, and executing immediate repairs alongside core responsibilities.
  • Offering technical guidance to other departments regarding treatment and monitoring equipment.
  • Compiling reports for the Lead Technician and management on the condition of assets.
  • Managing the operation and upkeep of the Environmental Nuisance Monitoring network.
  • Supporting the operation and maintenance of water management zones, including chemical dosing units and monitoring systems.
  • Driving enhancements in processes related to water treatment and environmental monitoring.
  • Conducting mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on all assets under the Process Technician's purview.
Qualifications Required

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • NVQ Level 2 in sewerage operations or a CABWI Level 2 Diploma, or be in the process of obtaining one.
  • A solid understanding of biological treatment, monitoring, environmental considerations, and associated assets (such as pumps and monitors).
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Environmental Monitoring.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Desirable knowledge of engineering, mechanical, electrical, and telemetry principles and applications.
