Occupational Therapy Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NELFT Acute Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Main Responsibilities- Assist the Acute Mental Health Occupational Therapist in the assessment, interventions, and reviews of service users.
- Work independently to facilitate group and individual work planned with an Occupational Therapist and/or ward team members.
- Contribute specialist knowledge and expertise related to a creative and/or leisure pursuit to the central and ward activity programme.
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.

- Relevant NVQ qualification or equivalent.
- Evidence of commitment to further learning.
- Experience of working with service users in a Mental Health Service.
- Experience of working with Occupational Therapists to provide clinical interventions.
