About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy Team at High Close School, a successful non-maintained special school providing day and residential provision for young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat young people with complex needs, working collaboratively with the Therapy Team and other professionals.
  • Line manage and supervise an Occupational Therapy Assistant, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality therapy services.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each young person.
  • Contribute to the development of the Therapy Team, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance the quality of therapy services.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs, preferably in a special school setting.
  • Post-qualifying experience in Occupational Therapy, with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Experience of supervision and management responsibilities, including line management and staff development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people, staff, and other professionals.
