About the Role

We are seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Acute Physical Health team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work alongside Occupational Therapists and other OT Assistants to provide a recovery-focused occupational therapy service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the Acute Physical Health Occupational Therapist in the assessment, interventions, and reviews of service users.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to support service users to remain in their own home safely and avoid hospital admission.
  • Contribute to the provision of specialist OT assessment and interventions to service users in their homes.

Working for NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.

Person Specification

  • Relevant NVQ qualification or equivalent.
  • Evidence of commitment to further learning.
  • Experience of working with Occupational Therapists to provide clinical interventions.
  • Experience working in acute settings.
  • Experience working in community settings.
