Job Title: Green Team Programme Manager
Job Summary:
The Green Team Programme Manager will lead and manage the Green Team Programme, overseeing the delivery of landscaping and grounds maintenance contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all contracts are delivered on time and to budget, and that long-term unemployed trainees are offered the best opportunity to develop their skills and experience to gain the necessary qualifications and experience to enter horticulture roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme Management: Secure, cost, plan, and deliver an annual programme of landscaping and grounds maintenance works through the Green Teams.
- Line Management: Line manage the Green Team Supervisors, ensuring staffing, resource allocation, and management, and staff/trainee skills are effectively and efficiently employed.
- Contract Management: Manage sub-contractors effectively on site, ensuring their competence and the quality of their delivery is to the highest standard.
- Trainee Management: Oversee the management, training, and supervision of trainees undertaking landscape improvement and maintenance projects across London's operational area.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all Green Team work is carried out to the highest quality, meeting the expectations and targets set by clients.
- Health and Safety: Ensure best practice and compliance with internal project management and H&S systems and procedures, guaranteeing all resources are properly controlled and managed and that agreed financial processes are adopted and used at all times.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: A relevant horticulture and/or landscaping/management qualification such as a BTEC, NVQ, or RHS at Level 3 (minimum requirement).
- Experience: Substantial experience supervising the completion of hard & soft landscape projects.
- Skills: Ability to provide support, advice, direction, and motivation for staff based in different geographical locations across London. Ability to plan and manage complex work programmes, allocating resources, prioritising tasks, delivering results on time and to budget, and providing solutions to fix issues as raised by stakeholders and clients.
- Technical Skills: Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel), Internet and Email, GL project, and financial management systems.
- Personal Qualities: Commitment to the organisation's diversity, equality, and inclusion in practice in the workplace and across communities. A track record of costing & winning landscaping and grounds maintenance contracts. Successfully delivering those contracts through directly employed teams and sub-contractors. Ability to work closely with the in-house team of Landscape Architects and Community Team members to deliver design-build solutions for clients.
