Position Overview

This is a newly established hybrid position that merges responsibilities of both reception and appointment coordination, enhancing flexibility within the Endoscopy Department to better support the booking and reception teams.

The role requires a warm welcome for patients, caregivers, family members, visitors, and healthcare professionals entering the Endoscopy Department, ensuring a courteous and professional atmosphere while maintaining a patient-centered focus.

Additionally, the position is responsible for overseeing the patient journey from the initial receipt of referral letters to the appointment in the clinic and any necessary follow-up visits. This includes utilizing various Trust systems such as Choose and Book, iPortal, Careflow, Unisoft/Endobase, and others to ensure a seamless experience for patients while ensuring accurate and safe data collection.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform clerical tasks, which involve providing and receiving routine information that may require tact or persuasive communication skills. This includes interacting with patients and staff regarding appointments or other inquiries as necessary. The role also entails communicating with patients and their families who are calling to update personal information or to modify or cancel appointments.
