Healthcare Scheduling Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Clinical Operations Coordinator to join our team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams to ensure outpatient clinics are fully utilized and patients are allocated an outpatient appointment within NHS national targets.
The Clinical Operations Coordinator will be responsible for checking clinic alteration forms and taking action where necessary. Additionally, they will be required to cover other specialties in the absence of colleagues.
A flexible approach is essential, as is the need to be self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks and objectives. Team building skills are also an essential requirement of the post holder, together with an awareness of Trust policies and procedures.
Main Duties of the JobThe Clinical Operations Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Undertaking clerical duties, including providing and receiving routine information requiring tact or persuasive skills.
- Communicating tactfully with patients, reception staff about appointments or any other queries deemed necessary.
- Dealing with enquiries where there may be barriers to understanding.
- Communicating factual routine information to patients, relatives (with consent) and external and internal bodies.
- Working closely with the Outpatient department to develop a wide knowledge of the specialties to ensure a good patient experience, promoting effective communication to ensure the achievement of Trust and Divisional objectives.
- Communicating closely with system administrators on a daily basis updating them on any slot issues, patient queries, also to ensure that feedback is given on any work that has been allocated daily.
- Ensuring that all available capacity is fully utilized.
- Taking instruction from Operational teams to deliver an effective and efficient booking service.
- Organizing own workload, coordinating and adjusting on-going clinic appointments and clinic alterations.
