We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Metabolic Disease Specialist Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a key member of our Paediatric Metabolic CNS team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with rare metabolic disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient care for patients with complex metabolic conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on metabolic disorders and their management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Conduct specialist tests, investigations, and infusions as required.
- Develop and maintain expertise in metabolic disorders to provide evidence-based care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
- Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) or equivalent qualification.
- Current NMC registration.
- Post-registration experience in paediatric nursing, preferably in a metabolic or related specialty.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in coordinating care for complex patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of a changing service.
