Clinical Lead

The post holder will be employed by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and be based with the Lincolnshire CYP Complex Needs Service (CNS) which sits within an integrated care system. The post holder will support the CNS Clinical & Strategic Lead to provide clinical leadership to the team, support the Team Coordinator with the line management of the service, and collaborate with CNS colleagues to develop and deliver training packages to professionals in our partner agencies.
The post holder will provide expert knowledge within areas of specialism in relation to children and young people's mental health, emotional wellbeing and development, and impact of trauma. They will work in partnership with service users, their carers and colleagues across other agencies including LPFT's Children & Young People's Services, Lincolnshire County Council's Childrens Services and the Future4Me service, Leaving Care Services and NACRO.
The post holder will contribute to the provision of effective consultation, psychological formulation, supervision and support to staff working in our partner agencies. They will provide clinical supervision and support to CNS staff and play an active part in professional development of the clinical team.
The post holder will work closely with a wide range of services including Lincolnshire County Council's (LCC) Future4Me Service, Children's Services, Barnardo's Leaving Care Service, and LPFT Children & Young Peoples Services staff.

Detailed Job Description and Main ResponsibilitiesThis description is not exhaustive and is intended to be an outline of the current expectations. It may therefore be subject to alteration.
The post holder will support the team Clinical & Strategic Lead in the delivery of a consultation led, trauma-informed approach to working with young people with complex needs, and the services and staff who are supporting them.
The post holder will provide clinical supervision and contribute to case formulation.
The post holder will collaborate with colleagues in the team to create and review evidence-based training sessions and workshops, for a range of professionals including those working within LPFT's CYP services, LCC's Childrens Services, Future4Me staff, Education and Barnardo's Leaving Care Service.
The post holder will demonstrate the ability to effectively influence the clinical dimensions of service development.
The post holder will use specialist knowledge to deal effectively with newly encountered clinical situations.
The post holder will work with individuals to assess their mental health, recognise mental illness and identify their related needs and circumstances; and enable them to understand, manage and where appropriate support them to access relevant services.
The post holder will plan, implement, review, improve interventions and treatment pathways to meet people's identified needs and manage their inherent risk with comprehensive Clinical Risk Formulation and care planning.
The post holder will assess carer's and family's needs and develop, implement and review programmes of support for carers and families.
The post holder will protect people from abuse, neglect and harm.
The post holder will work collaboratively and promote effective working relationships with a wide range of partner agencies and services, ensuring appropriate clinical decision-making, with other professionals.
The post holder will support transitions of young people to adult services, and/or support access to appropriate mental health services, including inpatient care if required.
The post holder will adhere to N.M.C. or other professional codes of conduct and ethics, plus associated legislation.
The post holder will develop clinical practice having due regard for the NICE Guidelines in respect of treatment for mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
The post holder will provide support to the Team Coordinators and Service Manager in writing, providing evidence for contract reporting.
The post holder will provide line management where requested.
The post holder will provide high standards of evidence based, clinical care in one's own practice and leadership in the team's practice.
The post holder will work flexibly according to service needs.
The post holder will contribute to, and where requested, lead on the development of service protocols and pathways.
The post holder will instigate and implement service developments, improvements and action plans (as required).
The post holder will key involvement in service development, participating in management discussions and decision making.
The post holder will support the Team Coordinator to undertake regular review of the team's performance and compliance to national and local standards eg. through audit.
The post holder will ensuring the implementation of up to date agreed care plans, risk assessments and reviews are in place for all service users in line with local and national guidance/ legislation.
The post holder will develop and deliver information to enhance professional awareness of issues related to the emotional, behavioural and mental needs of service users.
The post holder will promote and support the participation of patients/service users and their carers in developing service information and guidelines through effective communication, consultation and to promote opportunities for service users and their families to contribute at all levels.
The post holder will hold a small caseload of young people with complex needs for direct work and/or AIM assessment.
The post holder will promote equality and diversity.
The post holder will work in full collaboration with Clinical Lead colleagues to promote consistent leadership across Trust Children and Young People's Services.
The post holder may occasionally be asked to undertake such other duties that are deemed necessary in order to support business continuity within the Trust. This will only include tasks where you are appropriately trained.
