The CNS works alongside professionals working with vulnerable young people with complex and multiple needs. These include children in residential care; children and young people on the edge of care; young people who have left care; children and young people who are involved with the Youth Offending Service; those at risk of exploitation and extra-familial harm; and children who present harmful sexual behaviours.
We work in partnership with other professionals to develop knowledge and understanding of child emotional development; to consider the impact of trauma and abuse; so that those professionals may develop understanding of a young person’s presenting difficulties and they can be supported in the most helpful way.
CNS clinicians work closely with a wide range of services including Lincolnshire County Council’s Future4Me Service, Leaving Care, and LPFT Children & Young Peoples Services. We utilise a trauma-informed approach and provide consultation, formulation, training, supervision, assessment and direct work where appropriate, supporting young people to access mainstream services.
Our service covers the county of Lincolnshire, so the ability to travel is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be employed by LPFT and be based with the Lincolnshire CYP Complex Needs Service (CNS) which sits within an integrated care system. The post holder will support the CNS Clinical & Strategic Lead to provide clinical leadership to the team, support the Team Coordinator with the line management of the service, and collaborate with CNS colleagues to develop and deliver training packages to professionals in our partner agencies.
The post holder would provide expert knowledge within areas of specialism in relation to children and young people’s mental health, emotional wellbeing and development, and impact of trauma.
To provide leadership and work in partnership with service users, their carers and colleagues across other agencies including LPFT’s Children & Young People’s Services, Lincolnshire County Council’s Childrens Services and the Future4Me service, Leaving Care Services and NACRO.
Contribute to the provision of effective consultation, psychological formulation, supervision and support to staff working in our partner agencies. To provide clinical supervision and support to CNS staff and play an active part in professional development of the clinical team.
CNS clinicians work closely with a wide range of services including Lincolnshire County Council’s (LCC) Future4Me Service, Children's Services, Barnardo’s Leaving Care Service, and LPFT Children & Young Peoples Services staff.
