The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Employee Relations Specialist to join our Human Resources team. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with partners, managers, and HR professionals to provide strategic guidance and solutions on sensitive and business-critical employment issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic advice and solutions on employment-related matters, including complaints and grievances, misconduct, restructures, redundancies, and negotiated employee exits.
  • Advise on general employment law queries, including contractual issues, equalities legislation, and employment status.
  • Support the management of employment-related litigation, liaising with external counsel as needed.
  • Lead on the case management of formal grievances and disciplinary processes, conducting investigations and providing strategic advice to partners and managers.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel and Risk team on regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Develop and implement people policies, guidelines, and processes, partnering with internal stakeholders and proactively reviewing these policies in line with market trends.
  • Develop and deliver employment and policy-related training for the HR function and wider firm.
  • Provide support on various local, regional, and global people projects and initiatives.
  • Draft and update contracts and other key templates as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 1-2 years PQE of employment law experience; previous in-house experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire trust and respect while influencing and challenging.
  • Methodical and thorough, with strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance pragmatism, risk, and compliance with advice.
