Director of Information Technology and Services

The Director of Technology Services is a pivotal position within the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust, responsible for overseeing all information and technology systems across the organization.
This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive improvements in technical design, process design, and review to ensure the Trust's digital infrastructure is cost-effective, resilient, and aligned with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the day-to-day Digital IT function, ensuring the delivery of information management and technology services that support the Trust's strategic objectives.
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the IT Directorate, empowering the team to deliver complex systems and services that are effective, efficient, safe, consistent, and fit for purpose.
- Drive improvements through technical design, process design, and review to ensure the Trust's digital infrastructure is cost-effective and aligned with industry best practices.
- Ensure the team understands the critical importance of IT to the organization and the wider London community.
- Collaborate with the CDO to identify and shape the Trust's future technology requirements and operating models, including decisions on in-sourcing/outsourcing.
The London Ambulance Service NHS Trust serves one of the world's most dynamic and diverse cities, responding to 9 million emergency calls every year. We employ over 9,000 people who work or volunteer across London to respond to the health needs of over 8 million people.
We work closely with our NHS partners and are commissioned by 32 clinical commissioning groups spread across 5 ICSs and NHS England for our specialist services.
Requirements- A Master's degree level qualification or appropriate comparable experience.
- Leadership and management qualifications or substantial senior level experience in a complex IT organization delivering significant and successful change programs.
- Evidence of up-to-date personal and professional development.
- Formal industry certification, e.g., ITIL, PRINCE2.
- MBA or equivalent post-graduate management qualifications or appropriate experience.
