The governing body of Derbyshire County Council is seeking a passionate and innovative Principal to guide our thriving, inclusive, and successful educational community, ensuring excellence for all children.

Our nursery serves children aged 3-5 years during term time, while our childcare services cater to children from 3 months to 5 years, operating throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

As Principal, you will:

Provide visionary leadership and management, ensuring the highest standards of education and care. Uphold the safeguarding and welfare of children as a top priority. Design and implement a forward-thinking curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Inspire and mentor a dedicated team of educators and support staff, promoting a culture of ongoing professional development. Foster and maintain strong, positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and the wider community. Clearly articulate and embody the vision and values of the nursery and childcare services, motivating others to share in this mission. Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards and strive for excellence in inspections. Efficiently manage the school environment to meet curriculum needs and health and safety regulations. Oversee daily operations of both the nursery and childcare services, including budget oversight, staff management, and resource distribution.

Qualifications and Experience:

A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline. Extensive leadership experience in an early years setting. Comprehensive understanding of the EYFS framework and best practices in early childhood education and care. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. A proactive, enthusiastic, and child-focused approach to education.
