Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking three dedicated individuals to fill the role of Community Safety Educator. If you are committed to improving community health and safety, this position offers a chance to make a meaningful difference.

Location: Derbyshire, DE5 3RS (Travel Required, Vehicle Provided)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent (37 Hours Per Week)

As a Community Safety Educator, you will implement targeted educational initiatives aimed at vulnerable populations within our communities, concentrating on safety in areas such as road, water, and wildfire hazards, as well as addressing issues related to intentional fire setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with various partners to identify at-risk demographics and working alongside educational institutions and organizations to launch effective safety awareness campaigns.
  • Utilizing data analytics to pinpoint risks and educate the community on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partnering with other Fire and Rescue Services and the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) to execute campaigns, while coordinating with media outlets to inform Derbyshire residents and visitors.
  • Engaging with stakeholders on fire safety and emergency preparedness, with a focus on road safety, water safety, and fire prevention.
  • Leading the assessment and evaluation of community safety programs and events.
  • Participating in multi-agency risk management meetings, providing insights and recommendations on behalf of Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service.
  • Conducting trend analysis of incident data to support fire station teams in developing proactive initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid UK driving license.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Experience in community engagement and a solid understanding of the challenges faced by diverse groups.
  • Formal teaching experience or a background in presenting information to varied audiences.
