Exciting Leadership Opportunity:

The Derbyshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and visionary Headteacher to lead our vibrant, welcoming, and successful learning community in early years education.

About the Role:

The Headteacher will provide strategic leadership and management, ensuring the highest standards of education and care for children aged 3-5 years. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing an innovative curriculum aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of dedicated educators and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and the local community.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and striving for excellence in all inspections.
  • Managing and organizing the school environment efficiently and effectively to ensure it meets the needs of the curriculum and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

The Headteacher will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic leadership and management to ensure the highest standards of education and care.
  • Taking responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Developing and implementing an innovative curriculum aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of dedicated educators and support staff.
  • Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and the local community.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and striving for excellence in all inspections.
  • Managing and organizing the school environment efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Significant leadership experience in an early years setting.
  • Deep understanding of the EYFS framework and best practices in early childhood education and care.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
