  • Creating innovative governance tools: You will develop practical frameworks and methodologies to evaluate the safety and societal impacts of advanced AI technologies.
  • Facilitating collaboration: You will establish effective communication channels between our department and various stakeholders, including policymakers and international partners.

Key Responsibilities

As a Machine Learning Research Scientist focusing on safety cases, you will engage in foundational research to advance our initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Research and documentation: You will produce high-level materials related to safety cases, outlining methodologies and necessary properties for effective arguments.
  • Strategic development: You will strategize on enhancing safety case initiatives, determining their structure, and improving outcomes for safety.
  • Collaboration with external entities: You will work with academic institutions and research labs to develop joint safety cases.
  • Organizational efforts: You will assemble teams and organize workshops to foster an environment conducive to safety case research.

Candidate Profile

We seek individuals with the following qualifications:

  • Experience in machine learning research, AI security, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of technical safety methodologies.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with large language models and hands-on experience in their application.

Additional Qualifications

  • Research experience, such as a PhD or publications in prominent conferences.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary teams within top-tier research environments.
