About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at The Copse, providing inpatient rehabilitation for men with mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with care co-ordinators, commissioners, families, and carers to ensure comprehensive care plans.
  • Implement the Mental Health Act and collaborate with the Ministry of Justice as required.
  • Provide clinical leadership and governance of the service, overseeing the care pathway from assessment to discharge.
  • Participate in a two-tier on-call system, providing second-tier hospital on-call as the duty Responsible Clinician.
  • Support colleagues during leave and absences, with reciprocal cover provided.
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Ability to take full responsibility for patient care.
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved clinician status.
  • Experience in General Adult or rehabilitation settings, with a multidisciplinary team background.
  • Acute inpatient or community settings experience, with risk assessment and management skills.
