About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at The Copse, providing inpatient rehabilitation for men with mental health conditions. As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting service users to maintain links with family and friends, gain opportunities, and prepare for community living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise and collaborate with care co-ordinators, commissioners, families, and carers, as well as other services and agencies.
  • Implement the Mental Health Act and liaise with the Ministry of Justice as required.
  • Provide clinical leadership of the service, with a key role in clinical governance.
  • Oversight of the service user care pathway from assessment and admission until discharge.
  • Participate in a two-tier on-call system, with first-tier on-call provided by associate specialists and agency on-call.
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status.
  • Experience in General Adult or rehabilitation settings, with experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of working within acute inpatient or community settings, ideally inpatient settings, and experience in risk assessment and risk management.
