Job Overview

Employment Type: Full Time

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Radiographer eager to advance their career within our CT or Interventional Radiology (IR) department. You will be responsible for performing general diagnostic radiographic tasks within the Directorate while upholding high professional standards and technical proficiency.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Radiology Team and participate in the out-of-hours duty rota. Experience in CT or IR is crucial, and you will be expected to work across multiple sites.

Our facility is a regional vascular center and trauma unit, equipped with multiple Canon CT scanners. We have a well-established cardiac CT service and strong collaborations with cardiology, stroke, and trauma teams. Recently, we inaugurated a state-of-the-art IR theatre and have two IR rooms featuring advanced Canon equipment. Our IR Radiographers also provide a PICC line service and have an advanced practitioner nephrostomy exchange service.

We welcome applications from current Band 5 or 6 Radiographers. Please note that if you are currently a Band 5 without relevant experience, a training period will be necessary before transitioning to Band 6.

Key Responsibilities

1. Execute high-quality radiographic duties as required, including specialized responsibilities relevant to the position.

2. Administer intravenous cannulation and IV contrast agents as necessary.

3. Participate in the out-of-hours rota, ensuring patient privacy and dignity at all times.

4. Prioritize patients for examinations based on their individual needs and conditions.

5. Maintain familiarity with emergency procedures and the Major Incident Policy.

A BSc/DCR in Radiography is essential, and registration with the HCPC is required.
