Job Overview

Full-Time Position: 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking an Advanced Practitioner to perform x-ray guided interventional procedures and manage all aspects of mammography.

The imaging unit is equipped with three GE Pristina X-Ray rooms featuring tomosynthesis and CESM capabilities, alongside three GE ultrasound rooms.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct all facets of mammography and serve as an Advanced Practitioner within the Breast Imaging Unit, executing x-ray guided core biopsies and localizations.
  • Utilize motivational techniques to secure informed consent, ensuring patient cooperation during x-ray guided procedures.
  • Adapt communication strategies to meet the emotional needs of patients.
  • Clearly explain the rationale for biopsies and localizations.
  • Perform imaging during screening and symptomatic assessment clinics.
  • Safely operate specialized x-ray equipment.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental protocols.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Adhere to the Data Protection Act and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with Trust regulations.
