Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Hours: 37 hours
Pay: £11.50 per hour
We are working alongside a well-established Agricultural and Animal Science college based in York. Their mission is to provide top-notch support and maintenance services to ensure a safe and efficient environment for all. They are seeking a dedicated and reliable Temporary Caretaker to assist with general maintenance and repair tasks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including performing general maintenance and repair tasks as assigned, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained and safe, and responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies. The Caretaker will also be expected to maintain accurate records of work completed and collaborate with other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the college facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.
- Ensure all facilities are well-maintained and safe.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong handyman skills, including plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
