Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in building services management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the building and engineering staff of the York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) and for the maintenance of all properties and plant.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of building and engineering staff
  • Ensure the maintenance and repair of all properties and plant
  • Liaise with other departments across the wider Trust
  • Authorise engineers and external contractors to ensure building services are working, compliant and providing provision
  • Provide effective communication at all levels and meet with staff and external staff
  • Record and report on maintenance and repair activities
  • Participate in an Estates On-Call Rota
Requirements
  • Completed an accredited trade-specific apprenticeship
  • At least 2 years post-apprenticeship training gathering specialist health service knowledge
  • Ability to analyse complex reports and faults
  • Ability to work independently and within statutory regulations and guidance
  • Specialist expertise in health service knowledge across a range of technical subjects
