Materials Science Industrial Placement Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Research Assistant in Micro Target Materials Science. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects, developing novel materials and techniques for microtarget fabrication.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate the effects of changing and modifying target materials, such as adding deuteration or introducing halogen heteroatoms.
- Produce low-dimensional materials via thin film production techniques.
- Characterize the elemental makeup of produced materials using advanced techniques such as X-RAY CT and SEM.
- Contribute to the production of real-world targets used in high-power laser experiments.
- Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course in Materials Science or Chemistry.
- Good knowledge of the basics of materials science, A-level Chemistry or Physics, and experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to work individually on a project, plan effectively, and write reports.
- Familiarity with Windows operating system and basic knowledge of processes relating to the manufacture of components at the micro-scale.
