Electrical Engineer Industrial Placement Opportunity

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) for a 12-month industrial placement. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of design capability for pulsed power supplies.
Key Responsibilities- Gathering requirements and modelling and simulating power supply sub-systems
- Prototyping and testing power supplies and reporting results
- Working with the Magnet Power Supplies (MPS) Group to develop and operate power supplies for the magnets on the accelerator
- Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
- Required or have requested to take an industrial placement year
- Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
- Able to commence employment in summer 2025
- Demonstrate an understanding of electrical/electronic circuits
- Demonstrates willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
