About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Geriatric Medicine to join our team at Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our geriatric medicine services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive geriatric medicine services to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical conditions.
  • Lead and manage clinical teams, including junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of our geriatric medicine services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways and protocols.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and transitions.

Requirements

  • MRCP (or equivalent) and full GMC registration.
  • Recent comprehensive experience in geriatric medicine.
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner and contribute to the development of our geriatric medicine services.
  • Commitment to training and teaching junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
