About the Role

Bright Sparks Science is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Science Camp Activity Instructor to join our team of experienced professionals. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality science activities to children aged 5-11 years old during our holiday camps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Science Activities: Plan and deliver engaging science activities that cater to the needs and interests of children aged 5-11 years old.
  • Lead Groups: Lead groups of children in a fun and safe environment, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times.
  • Support Children with Special Needs: Provide support and adapt activities to meet the needs of children with special educational needs (SEN) or other individual requirements.
  • Communicate with Parents and Guardians: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to discuss individual requirements and provide updates on their child's progress.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure a safe and respectful environment is maintained throughout the day, including cleaning and maintenance of activity equipment and facilities.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: Have relevant experience working with children or a motivated approach to the role.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills and be capable of leading a group of children.
  • Adaptable and Hardworking: Demonstrate an adaptable and hardworking attitude, with the ability to use your own initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Safeguarding Commitment: Have a commitment to safeguarding children and be willing to complete safeguarding training as part of your employment.
  • Science Knowledge: Have a good understanding of and an interest in science, with the ability to adapt to effectively deal with the unpredictable challenges that working with children can sometimes bring.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Teaching or Coaching Qualification: Hold a teaching or coaching qualification or be studying towards one.
  • DBS Check: Hold a previous DBS check which is registered on the DBS Update Service.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Have knowledge on safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience in a Camp Environment: Have experience working within a camp environment or similar.
