About the Role

The post-holder will be working with the rest of the team at Beechwood Medical Centre, a forward-thinking, training practice that provides opportunities for professional growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the clinical team, answering telephone calls, and liaising with patients and other clinicians.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide administrative support to the clinical team, including secretarial duties and maintaining the smooth running of the General Practice.
  • To answer telephone calls and liaise with patients and other clinicians as required.
  • To book, change, and cancel appointments for patients in line with current arrangements.
  • To deal with post, tasks, scanning of letters, and other duties as requested by the Practice Operations Manager, Business Manager, or Partners.
  • To look after minutes and agendas from clinical and non-clinical meetings.
  • To prepare reports for third-party organizations.
  • To participate in team meetings and contribute to improving the service.
  • To assist with the management of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QoF).

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • GCSE level or equivalent education.
    • Experience of working with the general public.
    • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

    • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
