Are you enthusiastic about managing properties and eager to support the effective administration of a varied property portfolio? We are seeking a motivated and skilled Technical Estates Officer to become a key member of our team.

Role Overview

As a Technical Estates Officer, you will be instrumental in overseeing the financial operations and reporting associated with the Council's property assets. Your specialized knowledge will ensure we achieve our financial and operational objectives, delivering top-notch guidance and assistance across a range of property management functions.

Main Duties:

  • Financial Oversight: Manage all essential financial transactions and reporting processes linked to the Council's property assets, ensuring precision and adherence to regulations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work alongside external parties and agencies regarding transactions, providing regular and on-demand financial and performance insights.
  • System Expertise: Employ the Agresso financial system proficiently, while also training and mentoring other users on its capabilities.
  • Independent Operation: Function with minimal oversight, ensuring your actions align with the Council's core values.
  • Service Excellence: Contribute to the delivery of timely and budget-conscious outcomes, utilizing innovative and effective strategies to achieve success.
  • Property Evaluations: Conduct assessments and measurements of properties, ensuring compliance with the Council's standards and coordinating with the Commercial Estate team as necessary.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and present data regarding the financial and operational performance of properties managed by the team.
  • Planning Support: Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications for property enhancements and developments.
  • Transaction Management: Ensure the prompt and accurate processing of purchase orders, invoices, budget adjustments, journals, and other financial transactions.
  • Issue Resolution: Inform the Senior Estates Surveyor of potential conflicts in objectives and propose viable solutions.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in a comparable role, ideally within a local authority or property management context.
  • High level of proficiency in using the Agresso financial system.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to gather, assess, and present financial and performance data effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
  • Commitment to the Council's values and a proactive approach to ongoing improvement.
