We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Sustainability Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our National Sustainability Manager in delivering our Deforestation Strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Support the National Sustainability Manager in delivering our Deforestation Strategy, including managing our supply chain and ensuring compliance with relevant legislations.
- Work closely with our commercial team and suppliers to drive adoption of deforestation-free commodities.
- Manage compliance to strict certifications for our fairly traded commodities, including Cocoa, Coffee, and Tea.
- Identify new opportunities in the market and develop our approach to deforestation further.
- Investigate and improve the traceability and tracking of our in-scope commodities.
- Support the development of an Ireland-specific Soy strategy for Aldi IE.
- Experience working on the topic of forests, deforestation, and risk commodities.
- Knowledge of relevant forestry legislations and certifications.
- Excellent communications and information management skills.
- Experience in managing stakeholder and supplier relationships.
- Passionate about climate change, protecting natural ecosystems, and sustainability.
- Able to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects at once.
- Able to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Strong attention to detail and tracking of key metrics.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and be flexible to business requirements.
- Able to plan ahead with a strong sense of personal organization.
- Enjoys working as part of a dynamic team.
- Curious, conscientious, and driven mindset.
- Salary from £36,080 rising to £42,135.
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with the opportunity of 2 days remote working.
