Role Overview:

As a pivotal member of our team, you will spearhead the development and execution of the strategic vision for Search at Causaly. Collaborating with a team of subject matter experts in biomedicine, AI engineers, and our clientele, your mission will be to refine search capabilities and ensure our offerings provide exceptional value to the biomedical research community.

Search functionality is a cornerstone of our products. After years of investment in a premier information retrieval and ranking system tailored for biomedical research, we recognize the potential for further enhancement. Innovations in search methodologies and generative AI are unlocking new avenues for understanding search intent and optimizing relevance, ranking, and answer generation. Concurrently, our product suite is evolving to encompass new use cases, data sources, and modalities.

This is an exciting time for our organization as we prepare to scale our product and team. You will engage with cutting-edge generative AI applications within the life sciences sector, ultimately translating these advancements into tangible customer benefits.

Candidate Profile:

  • A strong desire to lead and implement our Search strategy, establishing ambitious objectives and thoughtful roadmaps that align with the executive team and stakeholders.
  • A comprehensive understanding of search products and mechanisms, with experience in search quality evaluation methods.
  • A passion for navigating complex and ambiguous challenges, addressing both technical and product-related inquiries while balancing business, technical, and user needs.
  • Adept at uncovering user intent and analyzing user behavior to inform prioritization.
  • A logical thinker with a data-driven mindset, capable of utilizing metrics to inspire teams and assess progress.
  • While domain knowledge is not mandatory, a curiosity for complex problems and a willingness to learn are essential. Experience with AI or data products is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement the product strategy for Search, ensuring alignment with Causaly's overarching mission and objectives while striving for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, research and development, and customer success, to deliver high-quality search features.
  • Establish clear metrics and KPIs to assess relevance and search outcomes, enabling effective communication of the impact of any modifications to Search.
  • Define and prioritize product requirements, working closely with engineering teams to estimate and plan development efforts.
  • Analyze user feedback, market trends, and competitive landscape to guide prioritization and drive growth.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of user needs and behaviors, utilizing data and research to inform product decisions.
  • Effectively communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, including executives and customers.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and developments in search and AI-powered research platforms.
