Job Summary:

We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our search strategy and drive traffic, engagement, and audience growth. As our Head of Search Strategy, you will play a key role in developing and implementing a comprehensive SEO strategy aligned with our global KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive SEO strategy, including content optimization, technical SEO, and support for affiliate teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of SEO managers, creating a centre of excellence and ensuring best practices are communicated and followed.
  • Manage the framework that ensures editors receive regular guidance on content creation and updates in response to SEO opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze site performance using tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, and Similarweb.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm changes, AI developments, and best practices to ensure our competitiveness in search rankings.
  • Oversee and advise on technical SEO to enhance site performance and user experience.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and UX teams to ensure SEO best practices are factored into new product developments and our overall site structure.
  • Provide strategic insights and keyword analysis to support new site launches and franchise partnerships.
  • Support social teams in keyword research for TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in organic search, Google News, Top Stories, and Google Discover, with a strong understanding of technical SEO.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable strategies for various teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
