About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Hygiene Manager to join our team at Bakkavor Desserts. As a key member of our site leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, microbiological, and health and safety across our site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective cleaning strategies to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinate and plan hygiene initiatives across the site, with a focus on long-term results
  • Enhance the health and safety culture across the site, promoting a culture of excellence
  • Manage and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) across the site
  • Lead investigations into microbiological improvement, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Oversee staff training, development, and wellbeing in the department, ensuring a skilled and motivated team
  • Employ root cause analysis to drive SMART actions, leading to improved results
  • Communicate hygiene performance and plans with other supporting functions, ensuring seamless collaboration
  • Manage labor and cleaning/chemicals budgets, forecasting future needs
Requirements:
  • Previous experience leading and managing a large hygiene team in a complex chilled food environment
  • Health and safety qualifications, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Significant leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving results
  • Structured and logical approach, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to challenge, identify, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive and energy, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to concisely convey complex information
Desirable Qualifications:
  • HACCP team member, with a strong understanding of microbiological principles
  • Microbiological knowledge, with experience in designing and implementing microbiological control programs
  • Design and build experience, with a strong understanding of site layout and infrastructure
  • Project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
