Role Overview:
This position is situated at our Desserts division, focusing on the production of chilled desserts such as trifles, cream cakes, and choux pastries. The site is home to over 1,900 employees and is one of eight manufacturing facilities within our Bakery sector in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume full responsibility for the Hygiene department, ensuring compliance with hygiene, microbiological, and health & safety standards.
- Leverage your expertise as an established Hygiene Operations Leader, with a strong background in health & safety and COSHH regulations within the food sector.
- Drive and implement significant enhancements in cleaning efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead the hygiene management team, fostering hygiene sustainability through effective coaching and development.
- Strategically coordinate hygiene initiatives across the site, with planning extending up to six months ahead.
- Cultivate a robust health and safety culture throughout the facility.
- Manage and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) across the site.
- Oversee staff training, development, and well-being within the department.
- Utilize effective root cause analysis to drive SMART actions, leading to improved outcomes.
- Communicate hygiene performance and plans with other departments, such as engineering, to achieve optimal results.
- Manage the labor and cleaning/chemicals budget while forecasting future needs.
- Serve as the site lead for interim cleaning standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading and managing a large hygiene team in a complex chilled food environment.
- Relevant health & safety qualifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and change management skills.
- Project management experience.
