Position: Legal Counsel

Your Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal and contractual guidance to senior management and various group entities.
  • Evaluate contract drafts, prepare risk assessments, and assist in negotiating favorable terms for construction agreements.
  • Ensure compliance of all contracts with established guidelines and maintain updated legal documentation within the Robertson Commercial Management framework.
  • Support the resolution of contract disputes and participate in relevant discussions as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to uphold industry-leading standards and maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Execute specific projects as assigned by the Executive Commercial Director.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor with a strong foundation in Scots Law and English Law.
  • Significant legal experience in construction projects within a law firm setting.
  • In-house legal experience in the construction sector is preferred.
  • Proficient in handling both non-contentious and contentious legal issues.
  • A Master's degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with both private and public sector clients in the construction field.
  • Thorough understanding of infrastructure procurement processes.
  • Ability to present complex legal concepts to audiences at all levels of seniority.
