Volunteer Independent Visitor

We are seeking a Volunteer Independent Visitor to support a child or young person in care. As an IV, you will become a trusted friend and role model, taking an interest in the child's life, hopes, and concerns.

You will undertake activities and outings with the child or young person, sharing a hobby, sport, or interest. This could include bowling, cinema, a picnic, or days out to local attractions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a positive relationship with the child or young person
  • Support the child's interests and hobbies
  • Encourage the child's confidence and self-esteem
  • Attend regular meetings with the child's social worker

Requirements

  • Reliability and consistency
  • Ability to build trust with the child
