Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Lead Nurse for our Children's Surgical Ward. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional clinical leadership and support within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead Nurse will be accountable for the comprehensive management and care delivery of the ward, ensuring a safe and effective practice that enhances patient experiences. The responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the daily clinical operations and providing professional guidance to nursing staff.
- Ensuring the provision of high-quality, compassionate care to all patients.
- Supporting the Matron in service development initiatives.
- Acting as a role model and leader, demonstrating flexibility in a multifaceted role that encompasses clinical, leadership, and management duties.
- Fostering a culture of pride and enthusiasm for quality care among the team.

Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) or equivalent qualifications.
- A post-basic certificate in neonatal critical care or related studies.
- A degree in a relevant clinical field or demonstrable evidence of recent academic study.
- A minimum of five years of post-registration experience, including prior Band 6 experience in a relevant setting.
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, and assessing nursing staff.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and knowledge.
