Position Overview

A remarkable opportunity has emerged within the Older Persons Assessment Unit (Ward A515) for a Band 6 Lead Clinical Nurse.

We seek an individual who is enthusiastic about professional development, adept at teaching, well-organized, and capable of exemplifying high standards of patient care.

The ward is engaged in several innovative projects, and there may be opportunities for you to contribute.

Key Responsibilities

To operate in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Professional Conduct and pertinent professional standards to deliver exceptional patient care through a flexible, patient-centered approach.

To provide expert professional practice within nursing (specialty) and oversee the management of a nursing team, offering guidance, information, and support. To actively assist the sister/charge nurse in the safe, effective, and efficient management of the ward/department and to step in during their absence.

To take responsibility for executing tasks assigned by the sister/charge nurse, including mentoring roles, auditing, and clinical governance. To foster a ward/department environment that promotes learning, supporting and engaging in the supervision/teaching of junior and/or new staff, including nursing and other multidisciplinary team members.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Level or relevant children's qualification
  • Current NMC Registration
  • 1st Degree in nursing or health-related subject or in progress
  • Relevant accredited post-registration qualification at level 3
  • Qualification in Teaching, Assessing, and Mentoring
  • Willingness to pursue Masters level academic study
