About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Randstad Staffing. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing essential production machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost-effective solutions to improve manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business objectives and improve efficiency
  • Manage and implement major capital projects to enhance production capabilities
  • Initiate and implement cost improvement actions to reduce waste and optimize resources
  • Devise and implement efficiency improvements to enhance productivity and quality
  • Monitor compliance to necessary standards, including GIS, TS16949, ISO14001 & ISO18001
  • Drive Reliability and Maintainability philosophy from enquiry to installation
  • Ensure environmental compliance and implement sustainable practices
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to engineering issues
  • Effectively manage contractors in all aspects of projects, especially health and safety and project control
  • Integrate with the existing Engineering team and work with internal and external parties to achieve project deliverables
  • Drive continuous improvement of business objectives
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including Trade Union representatives

Requirements:

  • Degree in automotive or mechanical engineering - Essential
  • Experience in conventional machining, including turning, drilling, spline rolling, and diameter grinding - Essential
  • General computer literacy and familiarity with Excel, Word, or equivalent, and project management software (e.g., Project)
  • A can-do attitude, ability to work in a challenging environment, and overcome complex problems to meet demanding deadlines
  • Resilience, analytical mindset, and data science skills - Beneficial
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Ability to direct teams
  • Experience of problem-solving techniques and tools, such as 8Ds, 5 Why, 6-Sigma
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledge of ergonomics and manual handling
  • Knowledge of SPC
  • Project management and change management experience - Essential

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 7:00-15:30, Friday: 7:00-12:30
